Reuters Investor Briefs (RIBs) Team Job Description: Trainee Content Analyst
- Provide accurate, complete and timely data for Thomson Reuters products.
- Responsible for assigned market data within define scope (regional/database).
- Responsible for assigned data projects.
- To be responsible for database administration and sourcing of exchange and contributed data and/or assist other staff who do.
- Ensuring that relevant information is maintained and delivered in an accurate and timely manner.
- To manage the relationship with the exchange and contributors.
- To ensure that data enhancement work is being escalated and put forward for prioritization.
- The position is within the Data Operations, which supports data across Thomson Reuters products and services.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Process data and apply in an accurate manner to the database using technical and financial knowledge to add value (this includes exchange and contributed data), if applicable Liaise with local exchange to ensure that data is maintained at a high standard Work with regional colleagues to identify gaps in data content and work within boundaries of formal content enhancement processes to meet client needs Work with contributors to ensure that their data is maintained to a high quality
- Ensure that own relationships with contributors and local clients is maintained and developed to ensure optimum levels of service
- Liaise central teams to ensure appropriate levels of awareness of changes impacting clients and use this information to enhance levels of service
- Act as a secondary source of knowledge on own data, communicating with other departments and external departments in the resolution of queries on exchange data and historical data as needed Work with other colleagues to Identify competitor issues and work with clients/colleagues to address them
- Assist in the preparation or own the regional/market plan Work closely with Specialists to ensure data enhancement requirements are raised, prioritized, sized and progressed
- Develop towards being a centre of excellence on all issues relating to real time and contributed data Adhere to Change Control procedures, Data Operations standards and current data policies and procedures
- Ensure that the relevant procedures are maintained and adhered to and that all processes are fully documented and kept updated with regular review
- Research new and review existing sources to ensure that quality, timeliness and automation are improved
- Promote continuous improvement through research and analysis of queries and data quality control Build up knowledge of financial regulations and market practices in relevant markets
- Seek efficiencies in work practices to achieve automation where possible
- Take responsibility for data quality, accuracy, timeliness and completeness, this includes root cause analyses of recurring issues
- Participate/own business continuity plan
- Assist with training of new members of staff
- Test new database/application releases where appropriate, providing expert user feedback; prepare testing procedures.
- Work effectively within teams or by yourself, proactively identifying and resolving problems Input expertise into projects or ad hoc activities where appropriate. This includes managing local projects as appropriate
- Use appropriate language skills to understand and source financial information
- Use language skills to build relationships with overseas market contacts
