Job Description :

SDL is looking for an exceptional ASP.NET Team Lead. This individual will be building and leading a highly motivated, intelligent, agile team writing software that will help our organisation grow some exciting new revenue streams. The ideal candidate will have excellent ASP.NET/ C# experience and be comfortable with SQL. Familiarity with agile processes and Test Driven Development would also be desirable.

Main Duties
Working in an Agile environment, you will:

• Proactively suggest improvements to the design of the software.
• Help define and architect the software to meet the companies requirements.
• Lead a team responsible for development and QA
  
• Work through a product backlog to deliver both new features and enhancements to existing features in the software.
  
• Where appropriate, liaise with the product owner to refine the software requirements.
  
• Input into the strategic direction of the tool and it's integration with other applications
  
• Develop high quality solutions that respond to the business needs.
  
• Help define and implement suitable acceptance / unit tests for your solutions.
  
• Use slack time to expand your skill set in ways that drive forward your own abilities in a way that is beneficial to SDL.
  
• Occasional travel to the UK offices may be required.

Education/Attainments Essential:

• Bachelor of Engineering/Technology – Computer Science .

Skills/Experience

• 4+ years’ experience delivering high quality web applications.
  
• .NET, C# , SQL, Javascript, Microsoft Environment.
  
• Ability to troubleshoot, communicate and resolve generalized system, data, and/or application issues.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication.
  

Desirable:

• Experience of working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience of Test Driven Development.
• Experience of n-tier application design.
• Experience of WCF and web services.
• Object Oriented Programming.

·         Professional software testing certification (ISEB/ISTQB Foundation)

·         B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience required.

Skills/Experience

Essential

·         4+ years in a QA or Software engineer related role.

·         Experience in the design, development and implementation of software testing solutions and methodologies.

·         Microsoft Environment.

·         A willingness to learn new technologies and techniques for automated tests in an integrated development environment (e.g. Visual Studio)

·         Demonstrate ability and basic knowledge of database, network, O/S, dependencies and application issues.

·         Ability to troubleshoot, communicate and resolve generalized system, data, and/or application issues.

·         Exceptional attention to detail.

·         Excellent Team Work capabilities.

Desirable:

·         Experience of working in an Agile development environment.

·         Test Automation, e.g. Test Manager and MS Coded UI.
